Availing NIC Webcast Services

The online booking system can be accessed by registed users through https://nicwebcast.nic.in, for booking, approval, payment and reporting processes related to NIC Webcasting Services.

Technical pre-requisite for availing NIC Webcast Services

To ensure a smooth webcast of the event, please review the following scenarios and requirements for live feed sharing:-

1. Live Audio/Video Feed Sharing

  • * Video Conferencing (VC): Ensure the VC feed is properly integrated into the webcast setup.
  • * Hired Agency: If an agency is handling the feed, coordinate with them regarding the technical requirements and access.
  • * Doordarshan (DD): If the feed is from a DD channel, specific details about the channel and access will be required.

2. If the Feed is Provided by a Hired Agency

  • * Audio-Video Setup & Encoder: Ensure the venue is equipped with a high-quality audio-video setup and an encoder capable of publishing the live stream. The encoder should be configured to support the required streaming protocols and settings.
  • * Static Public IP: The encoder should have a static public IP address. Please share this IP with the webcast team for whitelisting to ensure smooth data transmission.
  • * Outbound Access for RTMP Port 1935: Verify that outbound access is available for RTMP port 1935, which is essential for streaming.
  • * Dedicated Network Bandwidth: A dedicated network bandwidth of 2–4 Mbps per stream is required to ensure high-quality, uninterrupted streaming.

3. If the Feed is Through Video Conferencing (VC)

  • * VC ID: Provide the VC ID that will be used for booking in the VC Booking Portal (Reserve Portal). This will assist in coordinating the VC setup and ensuring compatibility with the webcast system.

4. If the Feed is Through a DD Channel

  • * Channel Name: Provide the name of the DD channel broadcasting the event.
  • * YouTube Link: Share the YouTube link for the DD channel, if available.

Note: Given the current weather conditions affecting signal reception, it is crucial to obtain the YouTube link from the DD team or the broadcasting agency. This will serve as a backup to access the webcast in case of disruptions in the primary signal.

5. If Live Streaming is on the Ministry/Department’s YouTube Channel

  • * YouTube Channel Link: Provide the link to the Ministry/Department’s YouTube channel, if it is being used for the live broadcast. This will serve as a backup option in case of any signal issues.

6. Webcast Service Charges

  • * Please confirm that the advance payment of ₹10,000/- for the webcast service for the one-day event is payable to NICSI.

You have to request NIC at least 2 working days prior to the event to extend live webcast service.
